Bread is considered a staple food for many regions and cultures across the world. It has been a beloved part of the human diet for ages. According to historians, the earliest bread was made in or around 8000 BC!
Even today, many people cannot even imagine their life without this baked good. And why not? After all, it’s carby, it’s inexpensive and above all, it’s delicious!
Since this ancient food holds so much significance in our day to day lives, it’s only fair we should know more about it. Today, let’s take a look at 5 different kinds of breads that are popular around the globe.

#1 Multigrain Bread

Just as the name suggests, multigrain bread is curated with multiple grains, which often consist of barley, flax, oats, millets, wheat, etc. A wide variety of multigrain breads can be made by blending different combinations of grains, seeds, fruits, and spices.
There are mainly two types of multigrain breads – light and heavy. While “light” multigrain breads are fine in texture and contain small kibbled grains, “heavy” multigrain breads have a high grain content and are dense in texture. They are perfect for making wholesome and delicious sandwiches.

#2 White Bread

This is one of the most renowned varieties of bread that is generally used in fast-food joints or restaurants. Owing to its soft texture, white bread is easy to slice and can be molded in different shapes to be incorporated in scores of delicacies.

#3 Whole Wheat Bread

Typically, whole wheat bread contains 100 percent whole wheat flour with all the parts of wheat grain, including bran, germ, and endosperm. This way, it carries much more nutrient and fiber content per slice. Since it is a much healthier option, many people have now made a switch from white bread to whole wheat bread.

#4 Focaccia Bread

Originated in Italy, Focaccia bread is a seasoned bread that is usually flavored with fresh herbs and garlic. This bread is characterized by its delicate yet crunchy crust which can be enjoyed alone or paired with a number of dishes such as soups, cheese, or meat to enhance their taste.

#5 Lavash

This flatbread is of American origin but has gained immense popularity in the cuisines of South Caucasus and Western Asia. Typically prepared with flour, water, and salt, Lavash is traditionally cooked in a tandoor. Thin and crispy in texture, Lavash chips are ideal to be served as a snack or appetizer.
